Complex subjects-whether in healthcare, science, tech, or education-can be difficult to teach with static visuals or talking-head videos. That's where animation comes in. In this session, we'll explore how animation can simplify abstract content, enhance learner engagement, and improve comprehension across diverse audiences. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the instructional design process for creating educational animations, from storyboarding and scripting to narration and tool selection.
We'll share practical frameworks grounded in cognitive learning theory and multimedia principles, and walk through real examples of animations that illustrate what works and what to avoid. No animation experience is required, just an interest in clear communication, visual storytelling, and better learning design.
