This session showcases innovative instructional design projects by graduate students who designed, developed, and implemented asynchronous e-learning modules on cutting-edge educational technology topics, including Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL), Virtual Reality in Instructional Design, and Zone of Proximal Development in Play-Based Learning. Participants will explore three distinct projects that demonstrate the practical application of instructional design principles and the ADDIE model in creating engaging learning experiences.
The session will feature student-designed modules on:
• Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) - Exploring how technology platforms enhance peer collaboration and examining the evolution from face-to-face interaction to digital learning environments, particularly in the post-pandemic educational landscape.
• Virtual Reality in Instructional Design - Demonstrating how immersive VR environments transform traditional instruction through the integration of learning theory, practical tool evaluation, and hands-on VR lesson design.
• Zone of Proximal Development in Play-Based Learning - Applying Vygotsky's social learning theory to create engaging, interactive learning environments that foster collaboration, social-emotional development, and problem-solving through scaffolded play experiences.
Attendees will gain insights into the instructional design process, see examples of multimedia e-learning development, and learn how emerging designers navigate the challenges of creating interactive online learning experiences. This session is ideal for instructional designers, educators, and technology integration specialists interested in contemporary approaches to e-learning module development.
