Tai Arnold earned her Ph.D. in education with a concentration in adult learning and higher education, her M.A. in education with a concentration in student development and B.A. in psychology, at American University.
Her interests include student success in higher education, and higher
education policy, prior learning assessment, adult and experiential
learning, higher education leadership, and credentialing learning.
She has taught "Careers and Your Future," "Analysis of Experiential
Learning," "Educational Research," “Adult Learning and Education,”
“Education Policy,” “Modes of Inquiry,” and “Higher Education Policy.”
Arnold has held administrative positions at SUNY Empire for nearly 25 years, and has served as acting provost, vice provost for student success, interim chief of staff, interim vice provost for academic administration, dean of the School for Graduate Studies, assistant vice president for academic programs, director of program development and most recently vice provost for academic administration. Prior to coming to Empire State University, Arnold served in several key administrative positions in admissions and financial aid and in the School of Education at American University in Washington, D.C.
She has served on many committees, task forces and review teams at the college, and externally for organizations including the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, U.S. Department of Education, American Association for Adult and Continuing Education and Council for Adult and Experiential Learning.
