Bio: Barbara Leicht is a Former Teacher, Forever Educator. As a
little girl, she watched her own mom walk-the-stage at commencement and has
been inspired by socioeconomic empowerment and diverse learners, of all ages
and abilities, ever since. Barbara comes to SUNY Empire State University with
12 years’ expertise as a Mindset Career Coach and Advisor, and 5+ years as a
Program Coordinator. Barbara specializes in career pivots. In fact, she used to
teach Inclusive English Language Arts (ELA), grades 7-12. Her career
development experience began in 2012 with the one-stop-center RochesterWorks,
through New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL), wherein she transitioned
to the non-profit in 2014 and became a certified Career Coach in 2015. In 2022,
Barbara completed a career coaching certificate through New York University’s
(NYU) School of Professional Studies. Recently, Barbara worked at University of
Rochester to successfully create an internal employee career development
program from the ground-up. Barbara is thrilled to be with Empire State
University! She is eager to support our diverse and talented students, by
bridging education and career through experiential learning
opportunities.
