Denise discusses her diverse background in IT/IS, leadership, entrepreneurship, and healthcare, and how she applies these experiences in her current role as Business Development Analyst at TalkPath Live, a telemedicine company.
Bio: Denise Russo, EdD Candidate, MSIS, MA-SLP, possesses a well-rounded background of IT/IS, leadership, entrepreneurial, and healthcare experience, which she applies daily to her new position as Business Development Analyst at TalkPath Live, a telemedicine company. Currently pursuing her doctorate of education in leadership and change at SUNY Empire State University, she also holds a master’s in information science from SUNY Albany and a second master’s in speech-language pathology from St. John’s University. Before joining the TPL team, she served as Director of Rehabilitation and Master Clinician of SLP Telehealth Services for several long-term care companies while also maintaining her own private practice, which focused on virtual coursework for public speaking, voice improvement, accent modification, and neurocognitive therapies. In addition, she previously worked as the Workforce Development Coordinator and Lead Instructional Content Designer for the Department of Online Learning at Hudson Valley Community College, SUNY. As Clinical Supervisor and Lecturer with expertise in linguistics and English as a foreign language, she has taught full-time at the graduate level at UNC-Greensboro, Adelphi University, and St. John’s University. She is licensed in multiple states as an SLP and is certified as both a New York State (NYS) Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities and a NYS Public Librarian. A published author, Denise’s research interests include the historical, multilingual, and legal aspects of metadata creation and usage, visual resources management, and the use of DEIA components within learning management systems.
