Staying motivated and creative over the past few years has been difficult in the “post-pandemic” landscape of higher education. Funding challenges and general fatigue from the fervor with which online teaching and learning support professionals poured their energy during this time has left many depleted. To try and rejuvenate our presence and restore momentum, WesternOnline at Western Washington University has been experimenting with a variety of strategies to increase awareness of services and provide development opportunities to faculty teaching online, including reimagining our purpose, creating avenues to celebrate faculty, and implementing course quality and design practices. These small efforts have used little or no funding, but serve as building blocks towards our future goals and attempt to include a little carrot for ourselves as we make our way through.
